3rd Baltic Pulmonary Hypertension and Circulation Conference

3rd Baltic Pulmonary Hypertension and Circulation Conference

Estonia, Tallinn – 01.10.2021 09:30 – 01.10.2021 20:00 [hybrid event]

Years of dedication and collaboration within the pulmonary hypertension (PH) community have vastly increased our knowledge of this progressive disease. This has led to the intelligent use of targeted therapies and evidence-based management strategies, which have improved long-term patients’ results.
However, there are still a lot of unsolved issues. Large number of patients are represented with advanced stages of the disease. Unfortunately, unawareness of the disease is still a big problem. There are difficulties in differential diagnoses of PH subgroups and in treatment strategies for the patient.
It will be a great opportunity for You and Your colleagues to meet and discuss the key themes in the management of PH. We have invited international experts Prof. Nazzareno Galié from Italy, Prof. Marcin Kurzyna from Poland and experts from Baltic States to share their views about pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH).
We will also discuss the key themes of PH beyond group 1(PAH) and 4(CTEPH), that represent a substantial burden for the society due to the significant number of patients that are affected by these diseases. Real-life situations and solutions will be presented in a case report session. We are inviting you to participate actively and present your research in this field at the poster session.
The best posters will be selected by the board and awarded at the end of the conference. There will also be sessions to provide practical guidance for cardiopulmonary rehabilitation and a nurse program to underline the crucial role of holistic approach to patient care in pulmonary hypertension.
Advances in knowledge and treatments mean that many people with PAH today have longer life expectancies and have more active lifestyles than a decade ago. These developments, while positive, bring new challenges which extend beyond treating the physical symptoms and delaying the progression of the disease.
In order to engage patients to participate in their own healthcare, Baltic States members of Pulmonary Hypertension Association (world organization of PH patients and family members) are going to have their own session in Tallinn at the same time.
